Church Covenant
Having been born again by the grace of God, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and being justified by His shed blood, and having confessed our faith before men, we do, in the presence of God and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.
We will endeavor, therefore, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this, His church, in knowledge and holiness; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship and ordinances; to submit to its discipline and doctrine; to contribute cheerfully, scripturally and regularly for the support of this ministry, for the relief of the poor, and for the spread of the Gospel at home and abroad.
We will also endeavor to maintain family and private devotions, to educate our children in the Holy Scriptures, and to seek the salvation of all, especially our kindred and acquaintances.
We will also endeavor, by the grace and power of God, that, as strangers and pilgrims in this world, we will abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul; that we will put away from us all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and evil speaking and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God, for Christ's sake, has forgiven us.
We will also endeavor to watch over one another in brotherly love, to remember each other in prayer, to aid each other in time of sickness and distress, and to extend to all the warmth of Christian love.
We will further endeavor to redeem the time by seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness until He comes.
